Jerky Origins

Jerky, in its earliest form, was meat preserved through smoking and sun-drying to prevent spoilage, especially in times when refrigeration was not available. This ingenious method not only extended the shelf life of meat but also facilitated its transport, enabling people to carry it on their journeys. Dried meat could be enjoyed as is, offering a convenient and portable source of sustenance. Alternatively, it could be rehydrated and combined with ingredients like potatoes and vegetables to craft hearty meals.

We've been fortunate to have some incredibly creative customers who have graciously shared their unique jerky recipes with us.
